The All-Terrain Vehicle Safety Institute® (ASI), a not-for-profit division of the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America® (SVIA), was formed in 1988 to implement an expanded national program of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) safety education and awareness. ASI’s primary goal is to promote the safe and responsible use of ATV’s, thereby reducing accidents and injuries that may result from improper ATV operation by the rider. All OHV operators are encouraged to complete an OHV safety education course before operating on public lands, roads or trails. All riders in who are under the age of 16 must be under direct supervision of an adult when operating on non-local jurisdiction roads. You may also be eligible for savings on off-road vehicle insurance for having your ATV/OHV Safety Certificate.
